Position Summary
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Estimator to lead electrical estimating for large-scale, industrial construction and prefabrication projects. This role plays a critical leadership function in developing accurate, competitive, and strategic cost estimates that help win and execute complex work. The right candidate will combine deep industry knowledge, advanced software fluency, and collaborative leadership to guide teams through high-value estimating processes.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the preparation of complete, multidiscipline electrical estimates for industrial construction and pre-fabrication projects.

Advise estimating and operations leadership on proposal strategy, risk mitigation, and cost analysis.

Manage centralized cost databases, historical project data, and formal estimating processes.

Interface with procurement, operations, and prefabrication teams to gather input, validate scope, and ensure alignment with construction execution plans.

Conduct estimate reviews, finalize pricing, and present estimates to internal and external stakeholders.

Manage bid schedules, subcontractor evaluations, and small business outreach.

Analyze completed projects to improve future estimate accuracy and enhance cost methodologies.

Lead value engineering initiatives, evaluate alternates, and assess risk exposure in commercial terms.

Oversee estimate turnover to operations teams and support initial phases of project planning.

Provide mentorship and leadership to junior estimating staff.

Ensure compliance with company standards, safety policies, and QA/QC procedures.
Required Qualifications
-
Industrial electrical estimating experience is required. (No residential or commercial-only backgrounds will be considered.)

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field OR equivalent experience.

Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical estimating for large industrial construction projects.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and complex formula creation.

Recent or current experience with the following tools:

InEight
-
Accubid Anywhere
-
Bluebeam Revu Extreme
-
Navisworks Freedom
-
SharePoint, Teams, Power BI, and OneNote
Strong knowledge of estimating procedures, cost control systems, and project documentation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple estimates under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with additional tools such as Quotesoft, Oracle, and project scheduling platforms.

Experience mentoring junior staff or leading estimation teams.

Pay Details: $43.00 to $50.00 per hour
